According to the research, the average human sleep requirement is about 7.5 hours. Everything on your bed has to have good qualities. Therefore, we have to invest on bedding for ourselves. However, there are so many options for us to make decision in terms of Thread Count, fabric make-up, patterns and solids etc. We have provided some tips for you to simply the process.

1. Thread Count

You may suspect that "Thread Count" or "TC" is just a flashy propaganda to make cotton sheets sound more luxurious. But in fact, it is indeed a scientific term that has strict standards for how these threads are calculated. Technically speaking, Thread Count is a term used for cotton or poly cotton only in the industry . As the picture shows below, the lengthwise (warp) and widthwise (weft) threads. For example, 250 longitudinal lines are woven with 250 transverse lines, resulting in a number of lines of 500, or 500 TC.

Dose Thread Count matter?

In general, the higher the thread count, the softer the sheet, and the more likely it is to be comfortable or even softened over time. The range of good sheets usually ranges from 200 to 800, but occasionally more than 1000 types are seen. However, this measurement is not always reliable. High thread count is a factor, but the type of cotton can be more significant.

At Manchester direct warehouse, our bed sheets have a variety of thread counts depending on the look, feel and price of the fabric. We believe which one you choose is down to personal preference – the feel of each individual range and how it suits each individual customer.
